Tyler Shorter

Tyler Shorter is a 26-year-old Morgantown native entering his fourth year as a baseball instructor and third year as a strength & conditioning coach at Pro Performance Rx. Tyler has been around Pro Performance for over 20 years, growing up participating in programs and groups as a kid.

Tyler graduated from Morgantown High School & furthered his education at Potomac State College and later Shepherd University. Sustaining an arm injury his freshman year, Tyler committed to learning as much as possible about strength training, nutrition, and baseball-related mechanics. Working back from his injury ahead of schedule through rebuilding himself, Tyler increased his athleticism, which aided in an increase in his throwing velocity, stamina, & arm health. He earned his BA in Psychology with minors in Athletic Coaching and Nutrition in 2020. Tyler has continued his education by earning several certifications. He is a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Certified Arm Care Pitching Biomechanist, and Certified Arm Care Specials.

Nikki Nuzum

Nikki Nuzum has joined the Pro Performance Softball staff.  Nuzum a former All State selection from East Fairmont High School, is available for individual lessons and will also be a lead instructor in all Pro Performance softball camps and clinics.

After a stellar career at East Fairmont High School where she was named the NCAC Player of the Year as a senior, Nuzum continued her dominance at Fairmont State College.  She was a WVIAC All Conference  pitcher for the Falcons as well as an Academic All District selection.

Amanda Beers

Amanda Beers, M.S. (West Virginia University)

Amanda Beers is a native of Allentown, PA. Beers is an alumnus of West Virginia University where she studied Exercise Science and was a strong member of the Club Gymnastics team. Beers joins the softball staff after completing her M.S. in Exercise Physiology from the School of Medicine. She will be involved in helping young female athletes understand how to train their bodies and minds, and better themselves athletically.

Sydney Wilson

Sydney Wilson – (Waynesburg University)

Sydney Wilson is from Pentress, WV. Wilson graduated from Clay Battelle High School and is currently playing her collegiate career at Waynesburg University. Wilson is an extremely talented LHP who in a single season at Waynesburg has brought in various awards and accolades. She led the PAC in various pitching categories helping Waynesburg to win the conference championship and appear in the NCAA tournament.

For her efforts, Wilson was awarded multiple PAC Pitcher of Week, PAC Newcomer of the Year, PAC Pitcher of the Year, ECAC Pitcher of the Year, NCAA DIII Union Regional All Tournament Team, 1st-Team PAC Selection, and 3rd-Team All NFCA NCAA All-Region 7.

Sarah Tekavec

Sarah Tekavec, M.S. – (Alderson Broaddus University)

Sarah Tekavec was a former softball player at Alderson Broaddus University. Tekavec is an alumnus of Morgantown High School.  During her time at Alderson Broaddus, Tekavec started games in each outfield position, shortstop, and catcher. Tekavec was a 2x-member of the All-Academic GMAC team and an All-Freshman nominee. Tekavec also led in RBIs and doubles in various seasons for the Battlers.

Tekavec has since been coaching club softball for 4 years, and currently coaches an 18u College Showcase team She is available for lessons for all position players and hitting.

CalU of PA – Graduate Assistant

-Worked with CalU strength and conditioning department for 2 years.

-Trained and assisted with 12+ sport teams (men and women).

-Developed unique programming for multiple sports based on needs of coaches and athletes.

-Assisted in facility management and upkeep of the weight room and athletic areas we utilized.

Elizabeth Forward High School – Strength and Conditioning Coach

-Organized strength training for Elizabeth Forward high school for their preseason and in season workouts.

-Utilized the weight room, basketball court, and football field to gain strength, speed, and explosiveness before season time.

-Emphasized injury prevention protocols in season and adjusted training based on specific needs of each position.

Jarrett Banks

Emily McDonough

Emily McDonough is on staff as the lead softball instructor with Pro Elite Softball. Emily comes to Pro Performance after coaching stints at Frostburg State University and Kenyon College. She was also the head coach at Southern Vermont College.

As a player, Emily competed at NCAA Division I St. Bonaventure University where she broke the program’s all-time hits record and became the only player in St. Bonaventure history to surpass the 200-hit mark. She also finished with the most runs scored in program history (108), second-most stolen bases (96) and third-best batting average (.382). In 2016, she was named to both the Atlantic 10’s All-Conference team and Academic All-Conference team. She also was a member of the 2016 Atlantic 10’s Commissioner’s Honor Roll and graduated in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in sports science. She completed her master’s degree in school counseling at Frostburg State and currently works at Davis & Elkins College.

A native of Marlboro, New York, Emily is a member of the National Fastpitch Coaches Association and the American School Counseling Association.

Emily is available for private instruction and will lead all of Pro Elite Softball’s camps and clinics.

JT Heenan

Travis Renner

Travis Renner is on staff at Pro Performance and works with all positions. Renner was a standout at University High School in Morgantown where he was a 1st team All-State, 1st team All-OVAC, and 1st team All-Area performer. Renner currently plays at West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon, WV. He will be available for lessons throughout the summer and off season months.
